Of course my pictures from the Driftless Area of Wisconsin today are of turkeys. They come strolling by quite often, sometimes one or two at a time and occasionally as a flock. Of course, I just had to search that term. Apparently, a “flock” of turkeys is supposed to be called a “rafter” or a “gang.” Now I know.
Watching male turkeys show off for the ladies is the best. They fan their tails and make sure to keep them pointed at the gal, hoping to get noticed:

Most often we simply see a *gang* traveling together on the back hill. Sometimes the deer are their escorts:


As neither my husband or I are hunters, our property is a safe haven for these birds. No presidential pardons necessary!
