On Tuesday, Release Day for Tangled Roots, I was up before dawn and noticed how foggy the valley was that morning. I stepped outside with my little camera to a cool morning. Something large, probably a deer or two, spooked in the hilly woods behind the house and I listened to it/them tromp farther off. I was sorry to disturb their morning, but I still wanted a few pictures.

I’ve never lived someplace with so much fog and micro-weather as the valley we’re in. I’ll post the pictures in the order taken:

I looked up to find the moon above the house:

Less than an hour later, I stepped out one more time for one more shot. The sun had risen but the fog hadn’t burned off yet:

I’m a poor photographer but there’s something to be said for quiet, foggy mornings and raw beauty. I’m grateful we found this place.
